Family

As we approach the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas I want to leave you with something to ponder. So often times we hear families get together for the holidays and complain about the quarrels and conflicts that occur. It’s common place and often a joke or reference is made to it on television shows or in comedy routines. We hear families frustrated because they have to divide their time between two or three sets of families and it’s a balancing act. Those things may be frustrating those things may be hurtful, but be Thankful for those opportunities of time to be together. You never know when or if it will be your last holiday together.

Another thought is to Be mindful who your sharing your complaints with. You may be talking to someone who recently or over a passed holiday season lost a parent, a sibling, a child. You may be talking with someone with an estranged relationship with family or someone who has no family at all. We often don’t appreciate what we have till it’s gone. Don’t let that be you this holiday season. Enjoy each moment and blessings you’ve been given. Choose to focus on the blessing rather than the obstacles. Choose to be an encouragement and overlook the offenses. In Proverbs 19:11 it says “A persons wisdom yields patients; it’s to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”
