This is the Day

10/20/22

This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.This week we’ve had a lot of discussion at our house on good days versus bad days. In our humanity it’s easy to look at the events of the day and say it’s been a good day, things went my way or it’s a bad day because things didn’t. We don’t often see the selfishness in those two statements until we look at it through the lens of this verse. This is the Day the Lord has made. He made it, created it, allowed us to partake in it. It was a gift not something we earned or should take for granted. Weather good or bad things happened in it we should rejoice in the gift. It’s an attitude of the heart a choice. Often times when I’ve had things to complain about and I went to the Lord in prayer quoting this verse as I journaled all my prayer concerns; the Lord would turn my thoughts to him and all His blessings. Each day has its troubles but if we dwell on those troubles it only compounds them. We are to focus on the Lord and his blessings and our heart attitudes then in turn our focus changes allowing us to see the Lord working and moving in our day no matter the content of what has occurred. What are you choosing to focus on today?
