The meaning behind my Tumblr name.

I don’t have a Tumblr account. I have lots of social media accounts; 6 different Facebook accounts I manage, 3 Instagram accounts, 2 twitter accounts, 1 Snapchat, I linkdn account, and a website. This doesn’t include YouTube, podcasts, or other means of communication. It feels like I am connected yet disconnected with my fellow man. There are many times I’d love to completely disconnect, delete them all, and return to a simpler day without such amazing technology.

The account name I’m most proud of is my primary email account. In the early turn of the millennium, the internet was rushing to the masses with the expansion of such companies as Apple, AOL, Yahoo, and Google. The newsest craze was for people to have an email address. Mind you, this is well before the introduction of Facebook. Digital bulletin boards were the hottest rage and dial up internet was the fastest way to connect to the internet. So in 2000, I decided to join the e-mail revolution.

Lightkeeper2000 wasn’t my first email address. But it would be my favorite and my go-to email account for years. It would travel thousands of miles with me, holding the names and information on the connections I’d make along the way. It would be the one I’d give out with joy and a huge smile on my face. Why?

Because within its simple phrase lay a meaning to my very existence. Lightkeeper2000 was the reflection of the calling God haf placed on my life. He affirmed my calling to be a light keeper for Him. I was to be a minister, that of which I had no doubt. I would share the good news and grace of God with whomever was brought under my influence. 2000 was the year, a rememberence of sorts. With it I could always look to the year I surrendered fully to leave it all behind and live as Gid deemed fit.

For the last 22 years I have served as God’s light keeper. I am not perfect, but I am willing. I am not without my insecurities, but within God I have found assurance. I am nothing. In living for God I have found my purpose, my passion, and most of all my calling. Lightkeeper2000 is more than an email address. It is a daily reminder of God’s fingerprint on my life.
